Mammoth Lakes Trip

Our Mile 26 Mammoth trip is meant as a fun runcation in one of the best high altitude running locations in the world. It is free for all club members and everyone is encouraged to bring their family. We will send out maps before the trip so you have an idea of where you are going. Please note these are not races and signs/trails will not be marked so it is important to view the maps beforehand (or just go out and back.)

The base of Mammoth Lakes is over 7,000 feet which makes it significantly harder for those not used to altitude. This is something you do not want to mess with. Carry water, wear sunscreen, and adjust your pace and take walk breaks as needed.

Sunday, August 6th

5pm - Easy Run @ Shady Rest Park in Mammoth Lakes

Monday, August 7th

8am - Craters Run

   Meet in the parking lot for the Craters. Out and back. Light Rolling Hills.

1pm - Convict Lake Hike

   Meet at the Convict Lake Hiking Parking Lot. This is a 2-mile hike with rolling hills and great scenery. 

6pm - Dinner/Drinks at Robertos

Tuesday, August 8th

8am - Mammoth Rock Run

   Meet in the parking lot at Mammoth Creek Park. This run is uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back. Roughly 7 miles roundtrip but it is out and back so you can turn back early if needed.    Bring a towel for a post run soak in the creek.

12pm - Barney Lake Hike

   Meet at the Coldwater Campground

6pm - Dinner/Drinks at Mammoth Brewing Company

Wednesday, August 9th

8am - The Lakes Run

   Meet in the parking lot at Horseshoe Lake. Half road, Half trail. Overall this is a fairly flat run but at 8900 feet. The main loop is about 5 miles but can add on if needed.

9:30am - McCloud Lake Hike

   This will be directly following our run and is a short ~ 1/2 mile hike from the Horseshoe parking lot.
